Today, at the client's request, Mingzhou Intelligent conducted a prototype test using a 20mm diameter, 0.4mm thick round pipe.
Without requiring a bending machine, the team successfully bent it into a perfect 90-degree angle in just 13 seconds. This innovative technology employs high-precision laser cutting to create spatial curve patterns on pipe surfaces.
Within 13 seconds, it produces continuous stress relief grooves on 20mm-diameter stainless steel pipes with 0.4mm wall thickness, enabling seamless manual bending to achieve a 90-degree radius of up to R50 – completely replacing traditional bending machines.
Traditional pipe bending methods rely on molds and equipment, which are costly, time-consuming, and inflexible.
The new technology uses laser milling to create micron-level precision grooves on pipe surfaces, preserving structural integrity while achieving "precision softening" to enhance flexibility at specific points.
Operators can simply bend the pipe without wrinkles or deformations, significantl
y simplifying production processes and making it ideal for small-batch, multi-specification customized manufacturing.
Industry experts note that this technology offers new possibilities for intelligent and flexible manufacturing, particularly suitable for high-precision industries like medical devices, premium furniture, and new energy vehicle pipelines.
As laser technology continues to evolve, "cutting-as-bending" may become the new standard in pipe processing.
